I was a Certified Professional Cleaner For Macy’s, Stanley Steemer, Sears
I will tell you this its best to use steam but make sure they know what there doing and dont over wet the carpet(It should take 4-8hrs to dry any more than that I would say they over wet); It also depends on how bad your carpet is soiled. If heavily soiled it may have some traffic wear which means possibly its best to replace carpet but you should try to clean it. They should pre spray carpet with a solution base cleaner (Not soap) and Use a bio-solv agent; For heavy stains they should use a citrus solvent(Grease,Etc) CAUTION OF THIS THOUGH as it burn the fibers which will hurt the carpet in time. They should move basic furniture and put chips/blocks underneath.
I WOULD STAY AWAY from MACY’s (HOST) or USI at Home they say its not harmful but how come on MSDS if swallowed call poison control center; and it leaves a residue behind they cant get it all out. AGAIN STAY AWAY from Macy’s OR ANY COMPANY THAT USES HOST. Macy’s does use wet extraction also but they dont move much furniture and beleive me most of the techs are not heavily trained;
Stanley Steemer not only uses Truck Mount System but guarantee results; Certified Trained techs as well
I would recommend Stanley Steemer they been in business for over 50yrs.
