Your problem is you are using too many chemicals. In a spray bottle 3parts white vinegar to 1 part water and spray on your furniture and carpet. This remedy also stops them scratching your furniture. Good luck.
light on the vinigar isnt going to help you any drench it in vinagar i had this problem on one spot in a bedroom the cat kept going back and we couldnt rid smell or keep cat away no matter what we tryed dumped a whole bottle of vinagar on it and it reaked vinagar for a week but cat never went back and smell disappeared
Been there, done that.
There are several products you can get at your pet store. Nature’s Miracle is one, and there are others like that product. It works with an enzyme to actually eat away the traces of urine. For actual CARPETS, if it’s in the padding, you’re sunk. But, you can pull up the carpet and scrub the underside in addition to deep cleaning from the surface. Same kind of deal with the area rugs — just saturate them with either soap & water and/or Nature’s Miracle or the like. Throw rugs should be able to go in the washer. Either that or take them outside and give them a good scrubbing. It’s a lot of work – I know – but the more you can get out of them, the less smell you’ll have.
There is a product that you can buy at Wal-Mar (and I’m sure other places) called “Out”. You can spray it on just about any kind of surface. It is pretty cheap and it should be in the pet section. They have one specifically for cat urnine. It neutralizes the cat urine, but it has a pleasant smell for us humans. It does a pretty good job. I think you can also get a special solution for a carpent shampooer by Rug Doctor, if you wanted to clean your carpet.
Our cat did that close to when we were moving so we scrubbed everything down and used Fantastic it comes in a blud bottle at almost everystor works great. But that is a bad smell. But luckily we moved to a new house after our cat was fixed!sorry I don’t know of anything else!
Diluted white spirit/turpintine always does the trick for me. Even the cats won’t smell what they sprayed and it does not mark rugs the way bleach would.
