Depends on what the wood looks like underneath. If the polyurethane (or whatever protection) is good then just give it a good cleaning with a wood cleaner. If there are scrapes where it is down to bare wood you’ll need to redo the floors. I redid three bedrooms–hard work but well worth it.
oxalic acid is good for getting wood floors clean i would look online for directions on how to use it. I used it on an antique dresser that got some water damage discolorations and its great.
