i had this problem and im told cat *** can soak right through carpet and into the underlay and concrete or whatever your floor is, thats why its so hard to get it out without replacing the carpet. i put a rug over the area (after alot of cleaning) and that helped. i cant smel it anymore unless i take the rug up. good luck
