It sounds like you’re a very hard worker and compassionate with the people in the residence home. It’s very unfortunate that the new “ED” is such a low-life. It’s sad that you have to leave the people you love, but I think you made the right decision.
Concerning your final pay, the federal and state laws may be different, so it’s a good idea to contact your state’s wage and hour department. Especially if the regular payday has passed. Make sure you read your Employee Handbook concerning your employer’s policy regarding vacation pay. Vacation pay is a benefit, and is given at the employer’s discretion. It’s not required by law that it be provided. Some employers have a “use it or loose it” policy, while other employers allow your vacation time to be “banked”. Your handbook will give you the details.
I hope you will be treated with more respect at your next job.
